My Biography
A long time ago my parents Mary and Bill had their first child,me. A few years later they added a son and two more daughters to their growing family in Dayton, Ohio. I had a happy childhood growing up in a small suburban town. There were many children in the neighborhood and there was always some sort of game or activity to be involved in. My summers passed quickly and before I knew it I was graduating high school and off on a new adventure in Boston. After patience, hard work, and perserverence I was able to complete both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lesley University. I also became a certified teacher and have been teaching for 14 years! During that time I met my talented, creative, and funny husband, Aaron. We have one daughter, Fiona, and 2 Tibetan Terriers. Their names are Mochi and Hopper. We live in a quiet town on a large plot of land where we have flower gardens, a studio for my husband (he builds guitars), and vegetable gardens. We live close to town and enjoy running, riding our bikes, walking our dogs, and spending time out doors.
This summer we had an exciting adventure! We got on a plane and traveled 6 hours to visit our friend in Switzerland. We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful country and got to explore new food, culture, and places. We visited several cities in Switzerland using their punctual trains to transport us from place to place. We sampled chocolates from confectioners in different towns and my daughter even tried her first piece of dark chocolate which ended in a different adventure that I will share with you at another time. We also visited 2 zoos because Fiona likes animals, saw the bear garden in Bern, and visited several beautiful art museums. The two weeks ended quickly and soon we were back home in MA; where Fiona was happy to see her two dogs that stayed back and all of her toys. Switzerland was quite an adventure that I look forward to sharing with you. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures this summer with your friends and family.
In addition to traveling this summer I went back to school to learn about better ways to teach you, my students. One of the classes I took was on technology the other was on writing. We will be using this website to use what I have learned and what I will teach you in the classroom. Your parents will be invited to this site We will be using this website to help keep track of homework assignments from home, use it to respond to homework assignments, add your information to the web site and explore different ways to learn at the Day School. Some of our first lessons will be how to access the page, how to edit, where you can find information related to school.
